The results of the 2022 high school diploma exams will be announced on the afternoon of December 22 for Phnom Penh and Kandal province and December 23 for other provinces, a full five days earlier than previously announced, said the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports announcement.

The ministry did not specify the reason for the change of dates. Education minister Hang Chuon Naron requested the directors of the provincial and capital education departments to send officials to collect the results of the December 5-6 exams.

“The ministry will announce the results of the high school diploma exams in Phnom Penh and Kandal on the afternoon of December 22 from 3:00pm and in other provinces on the morning of the following day,” he said in the statement.

Chuon Naron instructed the directors of all departments to appoint representatives to receive the examination results at the report room of the Chao Ponhea Hok Administration Building, 5th floor.

He said the envelopes must be opened in each exam centre, in the presence of the directors of the educational institution, and representatives of the local authorities.

“Once opened, a report must be sent via Telegram confirming that the seal of the envelope was undisturbed and detailing the time the envelope was opened, along with the names and signatures of all participants,” he added.

This year’s high school exams saw a total of 128,134 candidates sitting the examinations at 221 examination centres.

After the exams were completed, the ministry originally announced that it hoped to announce the results of the high school diploma exam on December 27 for Phnom Penh and Kandal and on December 28 for the remaining provinces.

On December 14, the process of correcting the 10 subjects of the exam was completed by the editing centre. The process was monitored by observers from the Anti-Corruption Unit.
