Fire ravages Kampong Speu factory

A fire broke out at Liu Tan International Factory in Prey Vihear commune’s Prey Ke village of Kampong Speu province’s Kong Pisei district during the early hours of September 30.

The 95mx54m building was extensively damaged, with 300 sewing machines and many other items destroyed in the blaze. The authorities are questioning the factory owner and investigating the cause of the fire.

According to the National Police, 62 officers and 11 fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire. The engines came from the provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Bureau, Brigade 70 and district police station.

The Baset district police and their counterparts in neighbouring Takeo province's Tram Kak district each contributed one fire engine.
