Former abbot accused of raping 6-year-old

Stung Trang district police in Kampong Cham province are searching for a former abbot accused of raping a 6-year-old girl in her house on Tuesday, police officials said yesterday. Deputy district police chief Lem Heang said that the girl’s family had filed a complaint to police, but the suspect is believed to have fled before police could arrest him. “The girl’s family took her to be examined at a hospital,” he said. Lem Heang added that police were searching for the suspect.
