The Kampong Chhnang Provincial Administration has decided to shut Phsar Leu market in Kampong Chhnang town until further notice after vendors there tested positive for the coronavirus Delta variant.

Authorities also cordoned off the area in the vicinity of the market.

The administration said all vendors and people who had been to the market must take Covid-19 tests at the provincial referral hospital or health centre closest to them and quarantine themselves at home in accordance with existing health measures.

According to the Ministry of Health, Cambodia has recorded a total of 3,731 Delta cases since the first was recorded on March 31. Kampong Chhnag has logged a total of 23 Delta cases, the ministry said in a press release on September 10.
