Phnom Penh Municipal Court yesterday charged a 27-year-old man with having sex with a 14-year-old girl in the capital’s Daun Penh district. Keo Thea, director of the Municipal Anti-human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Office, said that the girl is suspected to have been raped five times. The man was arrested following a complaint from the girl’s mother. “The suspect threatened to kill her,” said Keo Thea. The office has recorded more than 20 rape cases this year.
