Man charged for fleeing quarantine

The Siem Reap Provincial Court has placed a man in pre-trial detention for escaping from a quarantine centre in Siem Reap town's Siem Reap commune.

A detention warrant signed by Investigating Judge Sin Sangha identified the man as a 22-year-old resident of the commune's Kranh village.

He was charged under Article 7 of the law on the control of Covid-19 and other contagious diseases and faces between six months and three years in prison and a fine of up to 10 million riel ($2,500) if found guilty.
