Real estate and other property worth millions of dollars have been confiscated by anti-drug police in an anti-drug operation in which nearly 200kg of narcotics were seized.

The Ministry of Interior’s Anti-Drug Department reported in an April 28 social media post that it had conducted a recent anti-drug operation in Phnom Penh, starting from April 24.

The operation raided five different locations in the capital’s Chroy Changvar and Russey Keo districts, arresting six Cambodians, four of whom are women.

Police discovered more than 188kg of drugs, which included more than 158kg of Methamphetamine (ICE), more than 22kg of Ketamine, and more than 7kg of heroin.

“The confiscated assets are suspected to be the profits of drug crimes, and include $300,00 in cash, real estate, vehicles and bank accounts, with a combined value of millions of dollars,” the department said.

It added that the confiscated property and the suspects have been sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for further legal action.
