The Ministry of Tourism has reiterated its call for all businesses in the sector to follow "safe tourism" protocol in the context of Covid-19 during the Khmer New Year holiday to make local and international visitors feel warm and safe from the coronavirus.

In a video spot on instructions for those in accommodation business on April 14, the ministry told them to be mindful in preparing lodging in accordance with the new normal and standard operating procedure as previously laid out by the ministry.

"Follow the instructions to provide comfort and confidence for all local and international visitors who come to visit Cambodia and make them feel safe from the coronavirus. Likewise, make sure that all visitors follow instructions from tourism service providers,” the ministry said.

It said mask wearing is still mandatory, except in the four provinces of Ratanakkiri, Mondulkiri, Stung Treng and Preah Vihear, where mask wearing is optional as stated in a government circular released on April 12.
