The Phnom Penh municipal Department of Health announced on February 25 that they have found another 11 positive cases of Covid-19 among protesting NagaWorld employees.

The department said in the statement that from February 22-25, medical workers from the department had tested the 181 former Nagaworld staff who have been placed in Phnom Penh Quarantine Centre.

“As of 5pm on February 25, another 11 of them have been found to be positive with Covid-19,” the statement said.

The department instructed all protesters – and any people who have had direct contact with them – to place themselves in quarantine for seven days immediately. They should monitor their health carefully and adhere to health guidelines.

On February 22, at least 64 former Nagaworld staff who protested near the integrated resort had been taken to the Phnom Penh Quarantine Centre to be tested for Covid-19, according to the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration.

It said that from February 16-22, a total of 557 out of 879 protesters had been tested twice – with 74 returning positive results. The authorities were searching for the more than 300 individuals who have not come forward for testing.
