Paul Grove, aide to US Senator Mitch McConnell, and a former country director of
the International Republican Institute (IRI) talked counter-terrorism on his December
visit with Deputy PM Sar Kheng and Prince Norodom Ranariddh. He also met Khem Sokha,
the head of a new human rights NGO that IRI has funded. Ranariddh told the Post that
McConnell's call for 'regime change' in Cambodia, and the IRI's support for the former
royalist senator's NGO, which had angered the Prince, were not discussed.
