Officers from the General-Directorate of Consumer Protection, Competition and Fraud Repression (CCF) on July 8 confiscated more than 2,000 litres of fake alcohol sanitiser from a house in Steung Meanhey commune of Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district.

CCF said that before the raid, officers had used their mobile experimentation van to test sanitiser being loaded in a truck for distribution to the provinces.

The inspection then led officers to bust the place in cooperation with the local authorities.

“Specialist officers seized around 2,182 litres of sanitiser, which is being retained pending further legal action,” it said.
