Ancient paintings found in the Prasat Bakong pagoda in Siem Reap province have been repaired and restored by the Apsara Authority with financial support from a global cement producer, officials said this week. The restoration was the result of a memorandum of understanding signed by the Council of Ministers and Holcim Group. Holcim’s Asia Pacific director, Aidan Lynam, said the company gave the government more than US$200,000 for the project.
