Police arrested a married couple for allegedly running a massage parlour offering sexual services, before the Phnom Penh Municipal Court ordered their detention for further interrogation on Tuesday, court spokesperson Ly Sophana said.

Pak Youleang, the Interior Ministry’s anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection bureau head, identified the suspects as Sok Ratana, 27, and Duong Srey Pov, 26.

The husband and wife reside in Tuol Kork district’s Phsar Depot II commune.

On Tuesday, anti-human trafficking police raided the massage parlour operating under the guise of a beauty parlour, Youleang said. Eight people, including the owners, were arrested during the operation.

“The six women who worked at the parlour had been sent to the department of social affairs,” Youleang said.
