Hun Manet, deputy commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, transferred 230 military vehicles to various military divisions on June 28.

The contribution, aimed at bolstering security protection, was orchestrated at the Morodok Techo National Stadium in the capital’s Chroy Changvar district.

After the event, Manet took to Facebook, revealing that the vehicles, primarily earmarked for transport, were gifted by Prime Minister Hun Sen and his wife Bun Rany. This followed donations they received from “benevolent individuals” intending to aid security protection and emergency response.

“I thank all philanthropists for their financial donations for the purchase of these vehicles for our army. These vehicles will ease the operations serving our people and protecting the nation,” said Manet, who is also a prime ministerial candidate for the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).

Among the beneficiaries, the Kampot military operational sub-region and Intervention Brigade 128 received five vehicles each.

Commander Hok Chenda and Commander Meach Samut, respectively, voiced their thanks for the donation.

Their sentiments echoed across numerous other divisions and brigades, uniting in gratitude for the “critical” contribution to their operations.
