Police in Battambang’s Ek Phnom district on Sunday arrested six villagers caught in the Prek Tol conservation zone with hundreds of eggs laid by endangered birds. Yiem Bun Loeub, police chief of Ek Phnom district, said that during the raid police confiscated three boats and collected more than 500 eggs belonging to an endangered species of heron and other rare birds.
