Siem Reap administration holds New Year's bash with concert, art show

With Covid-19 case numbers in a sharp decline, the Siem Reap provincial administration celebrated New Year's Eve on December 31 at the compound of the Royal Palace Park and in the Changkran Roi forest community in Svay Sar commune’s Bay Dot village of Varin district. The events observed social distancing rules.

At the event, there was an art exhibition and a concert was performed. The attendees also set off fireworks to celebrate the coming of the new year.

The provincial administration also reminded residents, domestic and international tourists and the general public to maintain the preventive health measures and practise the three dos and three don'ts.

The administration said that if anyone has Covid-19 symptoms or know they have been exposed to someone with Covid-19 they should call the hotline 115 or contact a Covid-19 treatment facility and isolate themselves from others until they can be tested.

The provincial administration also decided to temporarily suspend traffic on some roads from December 30 at midnight near some of the event venues until the end of the programme.
