Cambodia and China are committed to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation on regional and international issues of common concerns, especially the Myanmar crisis and Russia-Ukraine conflict, so as to maintain peace and sustainable development.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn and his Chinese counterpart State Councillor Wang Yi renewed their commitment on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM) and related meetings on August 3.

On the ongoing Myanmar crisis, China has been actively involved in implementing the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus (5PC) in a bid to bring the country back to normalcy, according to Cambodia’s foreign ministry secretary of state Kung Phoak.

Speaking at press briefing on the morning of August 4, he said Sokhonn and Wang place high value on ASEAN-China cooperation over the last 30 years. ASEAN and China, he added, are strongly committed to continuing cooperation in strengthening their comprehensive strategic partnership.

The bilateral meeting between Sokhonn and Wang also touched on the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC), with both pledging to continue implementing the MLC projects in the next five years.
