Tractor driver hits mine

A tractor driver was seriously injured yesterday morning when he ran over an anti-tank mine in Banteay Meanchey province’s Svay Chek district. Seam Hak, deputy director of demining Unit 1 at the Cambodian Mine Action Centre, said yesterday that 42-year-old Khun Ki had suffered serious injuries to his left leg, left arm and waist after his tractor detonated the mine in Slakram commune’s Boeung Snou village. Seam Hak added that the victim had been sent to a hospital in Battambang city for treatment.
