Twins drown near home in Kampong Cham

Eight-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, drowned in a pond near their house in Kampong Cham province on Sunday, police said yesterday.

Kong Sihong, the police chief of Chirou II commune, said the twins were found “after their father arrived home and panicked upon seeing his children’s clothes and shoes near the [water]”.

The children’s mother had left them unattended while drinking, he added.
