THE United Kingdom has donated US$1.6 million to the cash-strapped Khmer Rouge Tribunal, the court said in a statement yesterday. The contribution will go towards the hybrid court’s international side. “This contribution comes at a crucial time,” the court said. Tribunal spokesman Dim Sovannarom said yesterday that the court still faced a budgetary shortfall of roughly $12 million for this year.
