Ministry of Health spokeswoman Or Vandine said the government's Covid-19 vaccination drive is still continuing without delay, and is even accelerated, despite the lockdown imposed in Phnom Penh and adjacent Kandal provincial town Takmao.

Vandine was quoted as saying by Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith on his official Facebook page on April 15 that those whose second dose was due amid the two-week lockdown, both Cambodian and foreigners, would just need to produce their vaccination card on their way to designated sites, while those who had registered for their first dose were advised to coordinate with the relevant authorities.

Vandine suggested that people get the jab in sequence instead of vying for it.

"For foreigners eligible for vaccination, I suggest that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation or relevant institutions – such as the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport – coordinate to enable a smooth process as scheduled at the National Maternal and Child Health Centre," she said.
