More than 100 Tonob market vendors in the capital’s Russei Keo district protested outside the market on Saturday night against what they said was a sudden and unannounced closure. Vendor Eung Ton said the vendors feared that the market’s new owner, Ou Sethanou, was making way for a new development. Ou Sethanou, however, said that he had given the vendors five days notice and that he only wanted to build a new roof.
