A kind-hearted neighbour family got more than they bargained for when giving refuge to a victim of domestic violence in Meanchey district’s Chbar Ampov commune.

The battered woman had run next door after her husband came home in a fury and attempted to hit her. Further enraged at her escape, he began to hack at his neighbour’s door with a cleaver.

A complaint was lodged with the police but it was not apparent whether the horrid husband was arrested.
