Attacker uses cleaver slice to square old beef

A reveller at a dance ceremony in Tbong Khmum province’s Memot district was hacked and hospitalised on Thursday, in what appears to be a revenge attack. Police said the victim, 27, had attended the event after a beer-drinking session and was attacked from behind with a cleaver by his 23-year-old assailant.

Villagers attempted to detain the attacker, but he managed to escape. The pair were said to have been involved in an argument months earlier. KOH SANTEPHEAP
