A 27-year-old is recovering in hospital after being caught in the crossfire of a gang battle on Monday in the capital’s Russei Keo district.

Police said two groups had been involved in a brawl when the suspect – now on the run – pulled a pistol and fired.

Rather than hit one of the combatants, however, his bullet struck a passerby down the road.

Police are now on the hunt for the men involved.
