Brotherly bout leaves banana farmer bloodied

Two quarreling brothers gave a Cain and Abel a run for their money in Kampong Chhnang’s Cholkiri district on Friday.

A farmer had taken his boat upriver to get banana trees from a nearby village and was talking with locals when his younger brother decided to settle a long-standing feud.

The man attacked the farmer from behind with an axe, leaving his kin unconscious in a pool of blood. The man was transported to Phnom Penh for critical care, and police arrested the vengeful younger brother. Koh Santepheap
