Cane and unable: failed thief hides out in field

A failed thief’s escape wasn’t as sweet as he planned in Kampong Cham’s Chamkar Leu district on Wednesday.

The commune chief called cops to the scene where a motodop told them he had been hired by the suspect, who attacked him from behind when they reached a secluded spot.

Losing the scuffle, the would-be robber went to hide in the sugarcane field until officials came, hauled him out, and arrested him.
