Cop gets beat up while waiting for his back-up

A police officer who intervened in a dance party squabble on Tuesday is recovering in hospital for his trouble.

Police said the trouble began when a group of “gangsters” began to brawl after one stepped on another’s foot during a dance in Kandal’s Sa’ang district.

When the cop intervened, the hoodlums turned to him, beating him until brother officers showed up to make the save. Police are searching for the assailants. Kampuchea Thmey
