Couple robbed of moto by gang of armed thugs

A man and his girlfriend were ambushed by a heavily armed gang in a moto robbery in Phnom Penh’s Chbar Ampov district on Sunday.

Police said two motorbikes blocked their way and one of the riders pulled a gun. The man tried to turn and drive back the way he had come, but two more motorbikes bearing machete-wielding thieves blocked their way from behind.

The assailants shouted at the man to drop his keys and, scared out of his wits, the man promptly complied before fleeing with his girlfriend on foot. The eight suspects are still at large. KOH SANTEPHEAP
