Craving for cool breeze earns full heat of law

Two men were arrested on Saturday in Battambang town’s Svay Por district for the unusual crime of stealing the fan from a pagoda.

While the hot season may have passed, the venerable monks must have missed their ventilation, as the 69-year-old layman pagoda chief speedily reported the crime to the authorities.

Police apprehended the pair – aged 25 and 37 – who confessed to their crime before being sent to the provincial police station.
