Crowd-sourced arrest includes a thrashing

A purse snatcher in Kandal’s Sa’ang district disappeared into the crowd on Saturday, though probably not in the way he’d hoped.

According to police, the man had snatched the bag off the arm of a woman walking down the street, then tried to speed off on his moto.

A crowd of bystanders, however, leapt into action, grabbing the thief and giving him a serious beating before police arrived.

Police came and took the suspect away to be detained, but not before making a stop at the local hospital. DEUM AMPIL
