Disturbed man taken in for attacking an officer

A 25-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly viciously hacked a police officer with a cleaver in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district on Monday.

Police said the man hit the officer, 45, at a police station several times in the head and neck before a colleague intervened.

The victim was hospitalised and the suspect taken for questioning. Police say the man had issues with drugs and his mental health, and are considering how to take action against him. KOH SANTEPHEAP
