Driver caught between a rock and a hard place

A 26-year-old driver from Banteay Meanchey’s Malai district got cocky while driving down a road still under construction.

On approaching a right turn with too much vigour, he overshot it and careened into a rock that had been left on the road.

The car bonnet crumpled on impact.

Local police are holding on to the trashed motor while they wait to question its owner, who is yet to emerge from hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
