A battered and bruised burglar was brought in by Phnom Penh police on Monday after an unsuccessful break-in attempt resulted in a thoroughly successful mauling by a pack of angry locals.

The 23-year-old was reportedly to break into the property in Toul Kork district, when he was spotted by neighbours of the absent homeowner.

A mob quickly formed and the man was badly beaten before cops arrived to cart him down to the station.
