Fishing sting nets small catch in B Meanchey

When police came by Banteay Meanchey’s Serey Sophoan town on Friday to stop illegal fishing, a 33-year-old fisherman was the only one to miss the memo.

Authorities had tipped off officers that illegal fishers populated a canal at night. When police arrived, they found the lone suspect.

The man was arrested, and his boat, motorbike and illegal fishing tools were confiscated. The suspect admitted he had been illegally fishing for four months but said others did the same. NOKORWAT
