Guard does double take at attempted double dip

Two fraudsters were arrested on Wednesday, after going double or nothing at the same market in Kandal’s Takhmao district.

Two weeks ago, three women pulled a common grift on a 26-year-old, dropping a fake necklace in front of the woman, who was wearing authentic jewellery.

After the woman picked up the fake, they approached her, and asked to trade necklaces. She realised the rip-off upon returning home, and filed a complaint.

When the trio attempted the same hoax on Wednesday, a security guard recognised and detained them for police. KAMPUCHEA THMEY
