Hasty bride attempts bold jewellery heist

An overly eager bride-to-be will find herself walking through a courtroom instead of down the aisle after being arrested in Kandal province on Saturday.

The besotted 19-year-old couldn’t wait till December to get hitched, and so had to quickly fund a $1,000 shortage in dowry for her fiancé’s family.

The hopeless lover went to a jewellery shop and tried on a bracelet saying she needed to retrieve money from her motorbike outside.

She then allegedly hopped onto her motorbike and tried to make an escape but was promptly stopped by bystanders and arrested by the police.
