Liquid courage led to a slightly different type of crime in Phnom Penh’s Srah Chak commune on Wednesday when a drunk man tried stealing a scooter by attacking its owner with a sword.
After polishing off five bottles of wine with his friends, the 36-year-old saw a motorist park their ride nearby. He grabbed his blade – conveniently hidden in the grass nearby – and started slashing at the victim’s hands.
Thankfully, a police officer was patrolling in the vicinity and quickly arrested the soused sabre-wielding suspect.
