Man victim of assault … and disloyal friend

A 29-year-old man is recovering in hospital after a vicious assault on Tuesday in Poipet.

Police said the victim had been sitting on the sidewalk enjoying a drink with a friend when two men arrived, grabbed the bottle and smashed it over the man’s head.

The friend, in perhaps not the bravest of moments, ran for it, leaving his now bloodied and unconscious mate behind.

Police arrived too late to make any arrests and have yet to get much helpful information from the still somewhat disoriented victim.
