Jan 22: A security guard of Anco Company, An Irn, 28, was shot dead

with AK-47 in Kieng Svay district, Kandal in a robbery in which $65,700 was stolen.

The robbers escaped.

Jan 22: A business man, Irm Pheap, 55, was shot dead with a K-54 handgun while

he was riding his motorbike on Monivong Blvd in Boeung Prolit precinct, 7 Makara

district. A local newspaper reported that four men who were riding two motorbikes

shot him to steal a brief case in which two million riels was kept. The robbers escaped

safely.

Jan 23: Chea Borei, 29 was chopped and seriously injured by a group of people

in Veal Vong precinct, 7 Makara district. Borei and those people were drunk and he

had conflict with them. The offenders escaped.

Jan 23: Vann Samnang, 38, was beaten to death in Ponhea Lea district, Kandal

by a policeman, Im Yoeun, 33. The district police said that Yoeun was drunk when

he quarreled with and beat the victim. Yoeun escaped.

Jan 23: An unidentified robber was chopped to death and another was seriously

injured by Ton Sros, 48, in Tek Phos district, Kampong Chhang. The district police

said Sros saw these robbers trying to break into her son's house while she was in

her house next door. Then she walked into the dark to chop them with a long knife.

Jan 24: The body of Him Ty, 8, was found floating in Bassac River in Chattomok

precinct, Daun Penh district. Police said Ty drowned.

Jan 24: A policeman, Sin Song, 29, was stabbed to death by Ngyeng Yangnoc,

20, in Prek Tonloap commune, Lek Dek district, Kandal. A local police officer, Nhean

Sothy, said Yangnoc beat his wife and neighbors when he was drunk and the victim

was trying to arrest the offender when he was stabbed. Yangnoc, who was arrested

immediately after the incident, was beaten to death by a mob of violence.

Jan 25: The body of an unidentified man was found in a guesthouse in Phsar

Thmei 1 precinct, Daun Penh district. The inspection of the body found that he was

strangled, put in a bag then dumped into the water tank of the guesthouse. The motivation

of the killing is not known as the criminal escaped.

Jan 25: Nou Savorn and her three-month-old child were shot dead with an AK-47

by her husband, Sos Sang Ay, 35, in Kampong Leng district, Kampong Chhang. A local

police said that Sang Ay was angry with his wife when he asked her about the money

she had made but she refused to tell him. The alleged criminal has been arrested.

Jan 25: Thong Son, 62 was shot dead while he was staying in his ricefield

to take care his crops in Rolear Phear district, Kampong Chhang. The motivation for

the killing is not known as the killer ran off.

Jan 26: A motor taxi driver, San Bunthoeung, 33, was hacked to death in Serei

Sorphoan district, Banteay Mean Chey in a robbery to steal his motor bike. The criminal

escaped.

Jan 26: A couple, Nop Vorn, 56 and Srei Rien, 49 were shot dead with AK-47

in Serei Sophoan district, Banteay Mean Chey. Local police said revenge and jealousy

was the motivation for the killing. Police are investigating to arrest the criminals.

Jan 27: Six women died and a man was seriously injured when a truck collided

with a motor trailer on which the victims were traveling on Route No 2 in Chak Angre

precinct, Mean Chey district. The truck driver escaped.

Jan 28: A security guard of a construction company, Khim Meng, 33 was shot

in both legs with an AK-54 hand gun and seriously injured in Ang Snoul district,

Kandal. The victim said the offender, who escaped, was a thief who was trying to

steal the property of the company.

Jan 30: Meak Sophal, 39, was shot dead with AK-47 while he was sleeping in

his house in Kieng Svay district, Kandal. The motive for the killing is not known.

Jan 30: A border policeman, Nov San, 24 was shot dead with a K-59 hand gun

by Sreng Saroeun, 30 at a party held in Koh Thom district, Kandal. Police said the

victim had conflict with the alleged criminal before the incident. Sreng Saroeun

escaped.

Feb 1: Soeung Than, 18, was shot dead with AK-59 while he was walking with

his girlfriend out of Tahkmao Rose Night Club in Tahkmao town, Kandal. The victim's

girlfriend, Sar Mom, 24, said the victim had a conflict with another group of people

before the incident. The criminal escaped

Feb 1: A disc jokey of a karaoke shop, Cheng Sreipov, 19 was shot dead in

Phsar Thmei precinct, Daung Penh district. A local newspaper reported that a customer

of the shop was trying to persuade her to sleep with him but she refused then he

shot her. The criminal escaped.

Feb 1: Yoeun Phat, 25, and Phan were shot dead while Ouk Vibol, 25, and Pov

Sokhom, 21 was seriously injured with an AK-47 in Ang Snol district, Kandal. Locals

said the victims were shot by the owners of a fish pond when they were stealing fishes

from the pond. The criminals escaped.

Feb 2: The body of a Chinese woman was found in a house in Veal Vong precinct,

7 Makara district. Police said the victim committed suicide as she was upset with

her injury from traffic accident.
