July 23

: Three offenders carrying a K54 hand gun rob Sam Chan Chary, 31, of his c90 Honda motorcycle at 6:10 pm in front of Wat Mohamontrei in Sangkat Viel Vong, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh. At 7:30 am the same day, three other offenders carrying two hand guns rob Chhouk Dith Sopheap, 20, working for CIDSE, of her red Econo Honda motorcycle [No NGO 449] at the corners of Samdech Sothearos and Preah Sihanouk roads in Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Khan Chamkamon, Phnom Penh.

July 23: Tha Tising, 67, is shot and killed by two offenders carrying a Rolo hand gun while he is robbed of his motorcycle at 3:30 pm in Phnom Penh Thmei village, Phnom Penh Thmei commune, Russeikeo district, Phnom Penh.

July 23: Pursat Military Police arrest two offenders for having looted a passenger car in Sakeo village, Thnoth Choum commune, Kroko district, Pursat. They demanded 3.5 million riel, $1,100 and four and a half dumlungs of gold [one dum-lung= $460].

July 24: Five armed offenders, three dressed in national police uniform, rob Doung Mina, 23, of his c70 Honda motorcycle at 8:30 am near the Institute of Technology on Pochentong Boulevard.

July 25: Two offenders carrying a K54 hand gun rob a moto-taxi driver at 4:30 am in front of the Chey Choumneas school on Street 105 in Sangkat Beong Keng Kang, Khan Chamkamon, Phnom Penh.

July 26: At 11 am officers from the Economic Criminal Offense confiscate 82 cases of medicines brought in illegally from Vietnam via Prey Veng. Guarded by five armed soldiers, the truck carrying the drugs failed to stop at an economic police checkpoint at Chbar Ampow market. Finally after bursting through another checkpoint the soldiers flee at a third in front of the Kirirom cinema in Phnom Penh when they don't like the look of the odds.

July 26: Khan 7 Makara police arrest Ngueyn Voc Yiek, 31, Vin Ngoc Houng, 19, both Vietnamese nationals, after the two allegedly stabbed and killed moto-taxi driver Lom Vicheth in front of Le Shop on Street 118 in Phnom Penh on July 25. The pair were said to have made a failed attack to steal the moto driver's bike.

July 26: Three offenders carrying a K54 hand gun rob moto-taxi driver Sieng Sarin, 43, of his motorcycle at 7:30 am on Street 47 in Sangkat Wat Phnom, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh. On the same day, three other armed offenders rob Puth Soeun, 36, of his motorcycle on Street 286 in Sangkat Toul Svay Prey II, Khan Chamkamon, Phnom Penh.

July 28: The Phnom Penh court sentences Phoum Chinda, female, 24, to two years' imprisonment for playing tricks to get young girls to work as prostitutes.

July 28: The Phnom Penh Criminals Investigation Police Office hands over a recovered white Land Cruiser [registration ONU 912] which had been stolen by three offenders from a UNDP official at his house on July 21. The incident took place in Monivong Boulevard in Sangkat Srachak, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh. The vehicle belonged to a UN security representative in Cambodia.

July 28: Police shoot and kill two robbers, one dressed in the national police uniform, while they are taking a moto-taxi near the Russian Embassy in Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Khan Cham-kamon, Phnom Penh.

July 28: Mei Am, 43, wife of an official working at the Svay Rieng Agriculture Office, is murdered at her house in Chrey village, Ang Ta So commune, Svay Rieng by an unidentified criminal cutting through her body with an ax. Police arrest a suspect running out of her house who is said to be a spurned admirer of the dead woman's daughter.

July 29: Kien Svay district police arrest five armed offenders after they entered and robbed a villager's house in Prek Takeo village, Samrong Thom commune, Kien Svay district, Kandal. Police says this is the fourth burglary to be committed by the gang.

July 31: Four armed offenders enter and rob a chemist's shop in Bos Khnol village, Bos Khnol commune, Chamka Leu district, Kompong Cham. The gang hit and wound the owner with the gun and rob all the drugs.

Aug 1: Two offenders carrying a K59 handgun rob Ei Sina, 27, of his motorcycle near Stung Mean Chey market, Phnom Penh.

Aug 1: Kien Svay police arrest five offenders who have committed four robberies in the last two months in the district and neighboring areas. District police carrying out the investigation hope to arrest more gang members.

Aug 2: Phnom Penh Criminal Investigation Police send three offenders to court for trial. Police say the three have been arrested following evidence given by victims of the gang's motorcycle robberies.
