Spouse with short fuse targets wife with bomb

A 55-YEAR-OLD man allegedly detonated a bomb in front of his house after arguing with his wife on Sunday in Kampot province’s Kampong Trach district. The suspect’s neighbours said that the man argued with his wife on a daily basis, and claimed that on Sunday he became angry with his wife and detonated a bomb in front of their house to intimidate her. Police said that the suspect fled the scene before they arrived. No one was injured in the explosion.

‘Possessed’ man attacks neighbours

POLICE arrested a man who claimed he was possessed by a ghost when he allegedly wielded and threatened his neighbours with a sword in the capital’s Sen Sok district on Monday. Police said the 26-year-old man allegedly threatened to stab several of his neighbours and destroy their property with the weapon. Police detained the suspect, but later released him because no one was injured and he agreed to pay an unspecified amount in compensation to his neighbours.

Police seek motodops after robbery at ATM

TWO Thai nationals are suspected of robbing a 31-year-old man at an ATM on Monday in Banteay Meanchey province’s Thma Puok district. Police said the victim was withdrawing money from a bank when he was beaten unconscious and robbed by two Thai nationals who are believed to work as motodops. The victim was hospitalised and the suspects remain at large. Police said they were uncertain how much money was stolen.

Office computer thieves

arrested by authorities POLICE arrested two men for allegedly robbing an office building on Monday in Battambang province’s Battambang town. Police said they received reports from neighbours around the building that two men were carrying computers from the office on Monday morning before working hours. Police arrived and reportedly caught the suspects in the act of robbing the office. The two men were sent to court.

Drug trafficking trio held after raid on house

A TRIO of alleged drug traffickers were arrested during a raid at their residence on Monday in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district. Police said they uncovered three packages of yama pills and two other packages of drugs that have yet to be identified. Several neighbours said that they were afraid of the suspects and were glad to see them arrested. Police said they were questioning the suspects before sending them to court.
