Neighbour drives wedge – er, hoe – into marriage
A feuding couple in Battambang town last Tuesday learned that good fences make good neighbours – or would, if they had one. When the contentious couple disregarded a neighbour’s demands to keep it down, the 28-year-old strolled over and attacked the husband, 27, with a hoe. The neighbour landed blows to his victim’s head and chest, then fled. The husband was hospitalised, and the neighbour was arrested on Monday. Kampuchea Thmey

“Who's been sleeping in my bed?” is a question a security guard may never ask again after being beaten by a fuming father in a Phnom Penh restaurant on Monday. A seven-year-old boy had crept off to a security guard’s nearby bed and drifted off. The guard, also sleepy, woke the boy and evicted him. In tears, the boy went to his father, who responded by beating the guard with a plastic chair, with a little help from his friends who provided fists and feet. The five men were arrested.
