Student struck by truck tyre in hit-and-run

A high school student is recovering in hospital after a traffic accident on Saturday in Banteay Meanchey’s Mongkul Borei district.

Police said the 16-year-old was driving home from school when the front tyre of an overloaded truck travelling in the opposite direction broke off, bouncing into his lane.

The collision between moto and truck tyre left the student unconscious and his bike destroyed. Fearing the student dead, the truck driver fled the scene. Police are now searching for the suspect. Kampuchea Thmey
