Quick-thinking locals ended a would-be moto theft in short order in Phnom Penh on Friday, while quick-acting cops made sure the scene ended without the traditional beatdown.

Police said the thief had jumped on the moto when a university student left it parked outside his home during lunch.

Immediately spotted by the student, the thief made it a mere 50 metres before being caught by the angry villagers.

Caught red-handed, he had no choice but to confess. NOKORWAT
