Thief foiled in attempt to strangle, rob motodop

A motodop proved too tough for a thief to take out in Stung Meanchey district at midnight yesterday.

The suspect asked the driver to take him to a pagoda in the district, promising to pay 10,000 riel.

Right before reaching the destination, the passenger wrapped a rope around the 50-year-old driver’s neck to try to take his moto.

But the driver fought back and the commotion drew other people who detained the suspect. The driver sustained light injuries to the neck.
