’Tis the season to throw down in Oddar Meanchey

Two dancers in Oddar Meanchey province put a damper on the holiday spirit when they started a fight at a Banteay Ampil district pagoda.

Authorities said monks had organised a fete to celebrate the first day of Pchum Ben on Tuesday, but it was interrupted when the pair of laymen began quarrelling for unknown reasons.

Officers arrived, pulled the partiers off each other and hauled them away to determine who started the tussle near the temple.
