A Kampong Cham thief found himself on the wrong side of 24 fists after a failed attempt to steal a scooter in Batheay district on Monday.

The suspect snuck into a house in the early afternoon to try pinching the ride, but was spotted by the homeowner.

Villagers were called to catch the crook, and a dozen responded in no time, doling out enough mob justice that the suspect was forwarded to the hospital.

Noting that his days of rounding up rosewood were over, police set him up with a date to meet the provincial judge.
