Wife slashed by husband after requesting divorce

A 38-year-old man who attacked his 34-year-old wife with a cleaver after she asked him for a divorce was arrested on Friday night in Kandal province.

According to police, when the woman asked to end the marriage, the husband went out drinking and returned armed and with bloody intent.

The man hacked the victim in the arm and shoulder before the police arrived and took him to the police station. The case is due to be heard in court August 10.
