Police are unclear about a suspect’s motive for a cleaver attack in Phnom Penh’s Prampi Makara district Tuesday. The man, 23, allegedly had a loud argument with a female neighbour, rising to the level where commune police broke it up, police said.

After authorities left, the suspect hacked at the woman’s head with a cleaver and ran off. Police arrested the man, who confessed and the woman is now recovering in hospital. DEUM AMPIL
